How does the bedtime ritual work?

At your chosen bedtime, Sleep Well walks you through a 3-minute guided sequence — pick how the day went, empty your thoughts onto the page, speak a short goodnight, and set tomorrow's alarm. Then the screen goes dark.

What is "app blocking" and do I have to use it?

Sleep Well can use iOS Screen Time to automatically block distracting apps during your bedtime window. You choose which apps to block in Settings. The feature is optional: the app works without it if you prefer. Sleep Well never reads which apps you use — it only toggles the iOS-level "allowed apps" list you configured.

Why does the app ask for the microphone?

So you can record a short spoken "goodnight declaration" as part of the ritual. The recording is stored only on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. You can skip this step or delete recordings anytime from Settings.

Why does the app ask for Speech Recognition?

To confirm that your spoken declaration matches the prompt, so you can get credit for completing the ritual. Speech is transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech framework and is never sent to us or any server.

Does the app have ads, accounts, or tracking?

No. Sleep Well has no ads, no accounts, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no internet-facing code. It runs 100% offline. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I change the alarm sound?

Open Settings inside the app → Alarm ringtone → pick one of the 7 built-in sounds.

The alarm didn't ring / came late. What do I do?

Make sure:

Notifications are enabled for Sleep Well (iOS Settings → Notifications → Sleep Well → Allow)
The device is not in silent mode or Focus / Do Not Disturb with notifications suppressed
Battery saver or background app refresh is not blocking the app
You tapped "Go to bed" to actually schedule tonight's alarm

If the problem persists, email us with your iOS version and iPhone model.

How do I delete all my data?

Open Settings inside the app → Delete all data and recordings. This clears every record, recording, and preference locally. Uninstalling the app also removes everything automatically.

Which languages are supported?

English, 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français, Deutsch, and Português. The app follows your iOS system language by default.

Does the app sync between devices or back up to iCloud?

No. All data stays on the device you installed it on. There is no cloud sync in this version. Reinstalling or switching devices will start fresh.

Is there a paid version or subscription?

Not at the moment. The full 3-minute ritual, app blocking, alarm, records, and all 8 languages are available for free.
