CatRest Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS application "CatRest" (the "App"), developed and operated by an individual developer (contact below). Please read this policy to understand how your information is handled.

1. Our Core Commitments

• The App does not collect, upload, or sell any personal information.
• The App has no developer server: all of your data stays on your device and — if you enable iCloud — in your personal iCloud account.
• The App contains no third-party ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• The App requires no account and never asks for your name, email, or phone number.

2. Data the App Processes and Why

2.1 Progress data (on device / your iCloud only)

Eye-exercise records, check-ins, fish-jerky balance, collected cats and items, and in-app settings (language, volume, reminder interval, etc.) are stored locally on your device. If your device is signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled, a small amount of this progress data is synced via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage so your progress can be restored on a new device or after reinstalling. This sync is provided and encrypted by Apple; the data lives in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to the developer.

2.2 Notifications

The App uses local notifications only (eye-rest reminders, check-in reminders, travel updates). Notification content is generated on your device and never passes through any server. You can turn notifications off in the App or in system Settings at any time.

2.3 In-App Purchases

All purchases (such as "A Big Bucket of Fish Jerky", "Full House of Cats", and "Cat Mystery Box") are handled by Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; the developer never receives your card number, billing address, or any other payment details. Purchase state (e.g. an "unlocked" flag) is stored only on your device and in your iCloud as an anonymous flag.

3. What We Do NOT Do

• No device identifiers (such as IDFA) are collected; no cross-app tracking;
• No third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs;
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your information with anyone (we simply do not have it).

4. Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from any user, including children. If you are under the age of majority in your region, please use the App and its purchase features under the guidance of a parent or guardian. Family Sharing's "Ask to Buy" is supported by Apple.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Deleting the App removes all local data from your device;
• To also remove synced data from iCloud, use Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage before deleting the App, or contact us for help;
• We operate no servers, so there is no server-side data to retain.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially (for example, if a future feature requires network access), we will clearly announce it in the App's update notes and on this page, and update the effective date above.
